We are a performance art group that specializes in Filipino dance, music and more.

Kawayan started in 2003 as a group of musicians that specialized in the music of Filipino folk dance. In August of 2006, Kawayan branched out to start its own folk dancing group. Although our group as a whole is still young, many of our directors, staff and dancers have been dancing and studying dance for years - some dating back to 1994.

Our logo is the Sari Manok which is very familiar figure in the
Filipino culture.

The leadership and artists of Kawayan bring numerous years of dance experience to the company. Collectively, all of our members bring their years of training and experience (Pilipino Culture Nights, cotillions, dance companies, classes) to Kawayan. Under the leadership of Kawayan, all artists are dedicated to research, teaching and dancing of Filipino folk dance and music.

Typically our suite of dances range from 15-20 minutes long. Based on the requirements of each event, the overall time may vary. Kawayan can tailor our dances to fit the needs of our clients.

We prefer to have a month’s notice for any performance requests. This will give us ample time to sign contracts and have everything ready for your performance. Although we would like as much time as possible, we will make every effort to work with your own timetable and requirements. With every performance request, we will need to check the availability of our artists to finalize the logistics of each event.

We are open to all performance requests in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. We are definitely open to traveling to other locations for performances. Please contact our Account Managers for further details and fees associated with travel.

Absolutely! Given enough time to learn the dance, Kawayan will tailor our services to meet the needs of our clients. Please discuss the time required for special dance requests with your account manager at the time signing the contract.

of California.

Dance artists practice 3 times a month while musicians practice 4 times a month.
